Video: Rogers Centre Case Study

Oct 24, 2013

In the stadium security industry, the name Mario Coutinho certainly rings bells. For the past 30 years, Mario has worked for the Toronto Blue Jays organization - the last nine of which he has served as the Vice President of Stadium Operations and Security for the club's home, Rogers Centre. With literally thousands of baseball and football games under his belt, you will be hard-pressed to find a more seasoned and savvy security official in professional sports.

Even with Mario on board, it can be a challenge to maintain a safe stadium for fans and staff. One of the ways Rogers Centre is able to monitor 50,000 fans and keep the outside of the venue secure is through high-definition video surveillance. Just two weeks before the 2013 MLB regular season came to a close, Mario invited our camera crew to get a behind-the-scenes look on how HD surveillance is keeping Rogers Centre safe. Follow Mario as he works a typical game day and demonstrates how the Avigilon system fits into the overall equation of stopping troublemakers in and around the stadium.
