Safe, secure communities are built on a strong foundation; they’re where people want to live and businesses want to thrive. However, maintaining a secure community can be a challenge, especially when faced with the rapidly evolving needs of public safety — it is crucial that law enforcement receives the right information at the right time so that officers can take decisive action.

The Proof Is in the Performance

The results are evident in communities that have taken steps to prioritize public safety. In hope of reinvigorating its home city, Ilitch Holdings, Inc. sought to achieve a new level of security in and around its state-of-the-art Little Caesars Arena, Comerica Park, offices and retailers throughout “The District” Detroit. By focusing on increasing security operations and implementing proactive security measures, security staff are able to not only detect suspicious activity but can quickly contact each other and take immediate action to help keep visitors to The District Detroit safe as well. The District Detroit is thriving, extending a more secure and welcoming environment for its guests and local community.

"We chose Avigilon and Motorola Solutions because, together, they provide us with a unique system for public safety that allows us to monitor, communicate and respond more effectively."
—Tim Sopha, Director of Corporate Security for Ilitch Holdings, Inc.

Long Beach Housing Authority (LBHA) saw similar success. As the only neighborhood in Nassau County designated “high risk” on the crime index, LBHA knew it was important to create a mandate to help ensure the well-being of its tenants, and that upgrading an obsolete video surveillance system was crucial to keep residents, employees and the surrounding community safe.

"We've seen a dramatic 70 percent reduction of crime in our housing development since installing Avigilon's HD surveillance system. With Avigilon's self-learning video analytics and clear video footage, we're able to quickly and effectively find the critical evidence we need to assist police in investigations, helping make our neighborhood a safer place."
— Mike Cruz, Executive Director for LBHA.

Smart Surveillance Meets Critical Communications

With the integration of Avigilon Control Center (ACC) video management software with Motorola Solutions’ CommandCentral Aware and Ally softwares, an unparalleled, end-to-end security solution for public safety now exists. From the time an emergency call is placed until after the incident is resolved, our solutions help enable officers to take action and maintain communication while doing so — and for those working in law enforcement, that achievement is no small feat.
